Tuesday 20th July - bike ***** - Two rivers, Orwell to the Deben – sunny and breezy.

Woke at 6 and were not sure what to do so decided on taking our flask to the pier at Landguard on our bikes and were down on the prom at 6.30. The sunny weather continues so I left my thin bike jacket off but there was a keen onshore wind blowing and I could have done with it to start with! Several out and about dog walking, jogging etc but again lovely and quiet when we reached Landguard Nature Reserve, just us and the bunnies:) Had our cuppa sitting on the wooden sleepers watching a few boats head out but a bit nippy to stay too long so set off back. I needed the loo at The Manor and when I came out Mag was talking to Jane Lyndell the editor of the Suffolk Magazine who I send loads of photos, she recognised Mag from the many pics of her and we had a lovely chat and discovered she lives really close to us here in Felixstowe! We continue along the prom with Mag turns off to head to Tesco while I carry onto the beach huts at ‘conkerland’ down the windy path to the prom leading all the way to Felixstowe Ferry. I sit on the sit by the jetty for a snack watching a small yacht being taken out of the water! Around the boat yard and out onto the overgrown Deben path stopping to take some pics of my favourite yellow boat wreck:) At Kings Fleet I turned into Marsh Lane leading to woods at The Grove and came off my bike avoiding a sleeper in the middle of the footpath, was lucky not to end up in a ditch! Then for breakfast, exercises in the backgarden and then we take an old friend out for a ride in the van to visit ‘Emily’ at Falkenham church and have a very pleasant couple of hours chatting ang enjoying the view before it clouded over and threatened to rain so we set off for Felixstowe. Another top day in Felixstowe, made better when I learn I have a pic in the local paper and had to go to a garage to buy on!
